As expected on Capital Markets Day was not the occasion for the preview of Ferrari Thoroughbred which instead will be revealed to the world in September. Thus, the first SUV of the Cavallino did not make its debut during the presentation of the financial and development plans of the Maranello-based car manufacturer, a shareable choice dictated by the brand’s desire to focus attention on programs and the future, not just that linked to the range and to the new models which by 2026 foresees the arrival of 15 new cars including the first electric and the Purosangue, but also on the objectives of carbon neutrality and the desire to continue the transformation of the company into a luxury brand.
It is inevitable, however, not to dedicate a few words to first SUV, which will officially debut in September. Under the hood there will be the naturally aspirated V12 and this is no longer a secret since it was Benedetto Vigna himself who anticipated the use of the twelve-cylinder on the first Sport Utility of the Maranello brand. A strong signal, which underlines that the company does not intend to drastically abandon internal combustion engines, as also demonstrated by the plans to achieve carbon neutrality which envisage a 40% mix produced with ICE engines by 2026. Ferrari Purosangue will still be a true sports caras reaffirmed by Vigna himself who will integrate into the Prancing Horse sports offer without distorting what is the philosophy in terms of sales: the first SUV of the Prancing Horse will still remain a niche product, with its contribution to the deliveries of cars from the brand that will not exceed 20% each year.
An interesting goal is the one set by the Italian brand given that the arrival of this model has already aroused great interest among the customers of the Cavallino, as also confirmed by the sales manager. Enrico Galliera. The rivalry with Lamborghini Urus is already on the commercial level, which since its launch has represented the real best seller for the Sant’Agata Bolognese house and which has reached 20,000 units delivered from 2018 to today. Also in this case Ferrari aims to stand out, fueling the dichotomy that runs along the Motor Valley.
