The Federal Police (PF) is currently serving seven preventive arrest warrants against people accused of trafficking in international weapons. The operation Florida Heatwhich is being carried out in Rio de Janeiro, Campo Grande (MS) and Miami, also carries out searches and seizures.
According to the PF, the criminal organization illegally brought weapons from the United States to Brazil, through containers and mail order. Weapons entered the country through Amazonas, São Paulo and Santa Catarina. The final destination of the shipments was a residence in Vila Isabel, in the north of Rio.
The weapons were packed inside equipment such as welding machines and printers. The dispatch was made along with other products, such as telephones, electronic equipment, food supplements, clothes and shoes.
Once in Brazil, the gun parts sent separately were assembled and then distributed to criminal factions. In the process, according to the PF, the gunsmiths also used 3D printers.

The money used in the purchase was sent through money changers. A Brazilian, owner of steakhouses in the US city of Boston, is suspected of passing the money on to other people in the United States.
The money obtained from the resale of weapons here in Brazil was invested in residential properties, cryptocurrencies, shares, vehicles and vessels.
The warrants were issued by the 1st Federal Criminal Court of Rio de Janeiro. In addition to the arrest and searches and seizures, the kidnapping of assets valued at R$ 10 million was decreed.
The action has the participation of the Internal Security Investigations Agency (Homeland Security Investigations) of the US Embassy.
