The SPD gave the green light * on Saturday, and now the FDP, as the second party of the traffic lights, is voting on the coalition agreement negotiated with the Social Democrats and the Greens. The core team and the closest party leadership of the FDP will be on site at the special party conference in Berlin, the other participants will be connected digitally. The FDP leader and future finance minister Christian Lindner wants to give a speech at 11.30 a.m., the actual decision on the coalition agreement is planned for 1 p.m.
The SPD * had its delegates decide on Saturday, 98.8 percent voted for the coalition agreement. With the Greens, for the first time in the history of the party, a ballot will decide on the coalition agreement and the party’s line-up. The voting result of around 120,000 members is expected on Monday.
If the result is positive for both the Greens * and the FDP, the traffic light parties could sign the coalition agreement on Tuesday. Olaf Scholz * would then be elected Chancellor on Wednesday.
