Test, test, test – for young and old.

Positive test results, but the way is clear for work, school, daycare. Can that be? Our current test strategy is neither secure nor logical – at least that’s what our author found after a week of quarantine.
Ma family and I have been trying to get through the pandemic well for two years. Homeschooling, vaccinations, boosters, birthdays to be on the safe side only in the smallest circle – we did everything. My daughter regularly sticks a stick up her nose at school, my husband in the office, my son twice a week in front of daycare. I’m in the home office and test myself before I meet friends or have other appointments. When we were recently invited to a birthday party, we did a citizen test. It’s probably the same for everyone, if that’s really the case, but: Completely surprisingly, my husband’s test was positive. The rest of the family was negative according to the rapid test.
It quickly became clear to us that if one of us is positive, it can hardly be the case that all the others are or remain negative. So we decided – if necessary at our own expense – to do a PCR test to be on the safe side. It wasn’t easy to get one on a Saturday, but we managed it in the end. After that we went into quarantine and impatiently awaited the result.
