Russia blocks Facebook all over the country. Russian officials have decided to block access to Facebook in their own country, they have currently been saved exclusively Instagram And Whatsapp. With an official statement the telecommunications regulator Roskomnadzor he said Russia’s move was carried out in response to the social network that is blocking access to state-owned media RT and Sputnik across the European Union, Ukraine and the UK.
It seems in fact that A half (the company that heads Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp) has decided to discontinue content from Russian state media organizations on Facebook and Instagram on a global basis. Also according to the Russian regulator, it seems that Facebook has decided to limit access to other accounts belonging to other media organizations, thus violating Russian laws.
Nicl Clegg, Meta’s president of global affairs said:
We will continue to do everything possible to restore our services so that they remain available for people to express themselves in a way.
Ever since Russia invaded Ukraine, Roskomnadzor has decided to restrict access to Facebook. It also asked Meta to stop verifying content posted by four state-owned media and remove the labels it applied to their Facebook posts, but the company declined.
In short, the war is taking ever more different turns, the struggle for independence is also being fought on the communication fronts. Many other technology platforms have decided to boycott Russia, blocking the distribution of content from Russian state broadcasters, including YouTube, Reddit, Spotify and Roku. Alongside the telecommunications battle of these American companies there is also the EU which has banned the transmission of RT And Sputnik in the whole old continent.
This story is spreading globally and as the days pass, it takes increasingly dramatic turns that we hope will not lead to a large-scale conflict, which would affect many civilians, completely indifferent to Russia’s economic policies.
