2022 promises to be a year of revolution in the world of Formula 1 not only from a ‘real’ point of view, but also as regards the videogame counterpart of the Circus. In fact, since 2010, fans of the top car series in the world have been looking forward to the release of the now ‘traditional’ videogame created by Codemasters that allows you to immerse yourself in the shoes of a driver and face the challenges presented by Formula 1. Now, however, the same leaders of the sport have wanted to take a further step, commissioning the release of a new game, with an official F1 license, which will focus on exclusively onmanagerial aspect of the Circus. The player must therefore put himself in the shoes of a Toto Wolff or similar and lead his team to victory, through the careful management of all parameters inside and outside the circuits.
The conception of an officially licensed game that would take care of the managerial aspects of F1 had already been announced a couple of years ago, but then no news was given about it. Now, however, the release of the game has been announced for this summer. The game is in ‘work’ at Frontier Developments, the British studio founded by David Braben, creator of many other management games in recent years. Frontier defines F1 Manager 22 as “a hyper-realistic simulation of an F1 race, presented with the same visual style as a live event “. The game will be released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, PlayStation 4, PS5 and PC.
A few emerge through the game’s official website new details, that could be of interest to fans of the genre. You can start your career of your choice, in a top team or in one that is stationed in the rear. Once we have the position of team principal, it will be up to us to be able to direct the funds in the right direction. In fact, the game will allow you to manage the entire construction process of an F1 car, from development to the choice of which technical aspects to enhance. It will then be necessary to keep up with the opponents with the updates to bring race after race, but trying not to burden the budgets too much. Finally, on Sunday, it will take coldness in decisions to get all the strategies right and lead our team to success.
