According to an article published by the Xfire website and written by the well-known journalist and insider Tom Henderson, F1 2022 will bring with it many new features in the series, including cross-play between platforms and supercar.
According to Henderson’s sources, the most important novelty of F1 2022 will be theabsence of a classic career, replaced by a new mode, called “F1 LIFE”. Here, players will be able to take a closer look at the behind-the-scenes look at the daily life of Formula 1 drivers, with the option to also purchase and collect “various luxury items”, such as watches and eyewear.
The absence of a career mode could make fans of the series turn up their noses, but according to Henderson’s sources this will return starting from F1 2023. Apparently the developers have been forced not to include it in this year’s edition to respect the timing of the works.
Also according to the Xfire article, the other notable change is the introduction of supercar, which players will be able to purchase and collect in F1 LIFE mode and use them to compete in single player or online multiplayer across the 23 tracks in the game. F1 2022 apparently will also support cross-play between platforms and support virtual reality headsets, a feature that has been loudly requested by the community for years.
Finally, the report states that the Russian circuit “Soichi Autodrom” will not be present in the game due to the war in Ukraine, a decision therefore in line with that taken by EA for FIFA 22. Obviously we invite you to take the indiscretions reported by the Xfire report, although Tom Henderson has proved to be a reliable source over time.
