To die-hard fans of Nintendo They love all of the company’s franchises, and that includes the ones we haven’t seen new installments from in quite some time. When the subject of dormant franchises is brought up, f-zero it is almost always the first to be mentioned. Now we might have a bit of information about why this happens.
VGC had the opportunity to speak with Takaya Imamura, a former developer of Nintendo who worked on the series f-zero. Imamura was asked why a series like f-zero receives considerably less attention from Nintendo compared to something like starfoxwhich is also a quieter franchise of Nintendo but get a little more love. You can see Imamura’s answer below.
I think it’s because Mario Kart is the most popular racing game in Nintendo and a new f-zero it would cost a fortune. My impression is that Miyamoto-san has great affection for starfox.
You could always tell that Miyamoto was especially attached to starfox, so there is no doubt that his influence helps to make new games in that series. Unfortunately, it seems that the success of Mario Kart has left f-zero in a corner at the moment, but hopefully someone in Nintendo soon become the champion of f-zero.

Editor’s note: As a child I always heard a lot about f-zero and when I rented it, the truth is that I didn’t like it because I compared it a lot with Super Mario Kart and I think that’s what Nintendo must think. People will wait for a Mario Kart and realizing that it’s not the same, it might not sell as well, I don’t know, it’s a theory.
