Meeting up with the release date of your game corresponding to that of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree it's a prospect that distresses any developer, especially if it's a relatively small team that wants to launch a new soulslike as happened to Jyamma Games with its Enotria: The Last Songbut the Italian team took it philosophically and wanted it joke about it.
“Destiny brought us together, Elden Ring, we are no longer Maidenless”, we read in the post published on X by Jyamma's official account, but what is particularly funny is the memes used for the accompanying illustration, where we see the classic situation resumed with a radiant AJ Styles in the foreground, representing the upcoming Enotria: The Last Song, unaware of the fact that behind him stands the enormous The Undertaker with a decidedly menacing air representing Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.
The image demonstrates how the Italian team decided to joke about one coincidence which could easily weaken the morale of many developers, considering that even for the original release of Elden Ring many, even publishers of notable level, decided to move the releases of the games so as not to run into a period coinciding with that of the colossal Souls RPG -like.
Two Souls-like on the same day
To make matters worse, for Enotria: The Last Song, there is the fact that the game belongs to the same genre and it is clearly inspired by FromSoftware's productions, even if it has a decidedly different setting than usual and on which the project particularly focuses.
As can also be seen in the new trailer which revealed the release date, Enotria is betting a lot on its own Italian origins: settings, atmospheres and music are in fact based on the folklore and culture of our country, also characterized by open and rather sunny scenography, which establish a direct contrast with the classic atmospheres of the genre.
Then there are several original features that are decidedly interesting, such as the use of the special mask used by the protagonist, which can be changed and with this you can modify special skills and bonuses in combat.
Enotria: The Last Song therefore has a release date set for June 21, 2024same day scheduled for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.
