Hyundai launches the new Ioniq 6, which incorporates the brand’s Electrical Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). With this model, Hyundai wants to build a bridge to the future of electric mobility, more focused on people and sustainability.
Among the many things to note about the Ioniq 6, one of them is its aerodynamics. Thanks to exhaustive design and engineering work. The drag coefficient of 0.21 is the lowest in the entire range and one of the lowest in the automotive industry. To achieve this, a wide range of advanced aerodynamic solutions have been implemented, such as flush door handles, rear spoiler, active air vents at the front, air curtains, and reduced wheel wells and wheel deflectors.
This contributes to the fact that the design of the new model does not leave anyone indifferent, giving the vehicle extreme elegance. It is characterized by clean and simple lines and an aesthetic and aerodynamic design that is defined as ’emotional efficiency’.
It features a long wheelbase that maximizes interior space and creates a unique exterior profile. This holistic approach, which simultaneously defines interior space and exterior design, is an unconventional way of designing a vehicle.
Advanced technology
IONIQ 6 is packed with advanced technology and personalized features and spaces, while offering a high range that redefines the boundaries of electric mobility.
It has an electric range of up to 614 km per charge, according to the WLTP standard, in the 77kwh RWD battery versions with 18″ rims. In addition, it offers ultra-fast 400V/800V multi-charging, made possible by Hyundai Motor Group’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). It also boasts what may be Hyundai’s most aerodynamic styling to date and a host of functions and features that enhance the electric mobility experience, including dual-color ambient lighting, Speed Sync lighting. with vehicle speed), electrical performance adjustments, and electric active sound design (e-ASD).
It is available with motors and batteries that adapt to the needs of each client without compromising performance. Users can choose between two different batteries: one of 53 kWh with RWD tarsier propulsion and another with a longer range of 77.4 kWh. This can also be combined with either rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). The most advanced dual-motor configuration is an AWD version that develops a combined power of 239 kW and 605 Nm of torque. This electric configuration can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds.
Ioniq 6 boasts very low power consumption. In the case of the version with the standard 53 kWh battery, 18-inch tires and rear drive, it consumes 13.9 kWh/100 km in combined cycle (WLTP). This makes Ioniq 6 one of the most energy efficient vehicles on the market.
The IONIQ 6 E-GMP platform supports both 400V and 800V charging infrastructures. Standard charging is 800V and can be adapted to 400V charging without the need for additional components or adapters. With a charger of up to 350 kW, IONIQ 6 can charge from 10% to 80% power in just 18 minutes and achieve a range of 351 km on a 15-minute charge.
In addition, Ioniq 6 offers the innovative Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function, which allows customers to charge any electrical device, such as bicycles, scooters or camping equipment, using the vehicle’s battery. The V2L function can supply up to 3.6 kW of power.
Inside
Ioniq 6’s enveloping interior is packed with practical features and sustainable materials to enable an eco-conscious lifestyle and mobility experience.
The long 2,950mm wheelbase has allowed Hyundai designers to stretch the interior, both front and rear, to optimize legroom and provide spaciousness that allows passengers to be very comfortable in the car. inside the vehicle. The platform also allows a completely flat floor, giving a great feeling of spaciousness.
The user-focused interior architecture is reflected with a centrally positioned, ergonomically designed control unit to reduce distractions and encourage safe and intuitive driving. The modular dashboard integrates a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment screen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The bridge-shaped center console offers ample and practical storage space.
‘Speed Sync’ lighting mode adds excitement to the driving experience, changing the intensity of the front row interior lighting based on vehicle speed. At the same time, the four-dot interactive pixel lights located on the steering wheel facilitate easy communication between the driver and the vehicle, signaling the following states: welcome, voice recognition, EV ready, reverse lights on, driving modes (ECO) and battery status.
The interior of Ioniq 6 is also decorated with sustainable materials and colours. Depending on the trim level, these materials include eco-leather (seats), recycled PET fabric (seats), bio TPO leather (dashboard), bio PET fabric (headlining), bio-based paint derived from vegetable oils (doors) and floor mats. recycled fishing nets (the latter is a first for the Ioniq brand).
digital side mirrors
The innovative digital side mirrors offer a clear view of what is happening on both sides of the vehicle, even in adverse weather conditions. They provide a greater viewing angle than traditional mirrors, so you can see more. The views from the sides are projected through two OLED monitors perfectly integrated into the dashboard.
