In an embarrassment caused by the Junior players, added to the lack of authority and an error by referee Jorge Duarte, the first half of the match between the Colombian champion and Millonarios ended, this Wednesday in El Campín.
Millonarios took the lead in the 39th minute, with a header from Leonardo Castro, after a cross from Daniel Ruiz. The Junior players were left complaining about a foul by Castro himself against Edwin Herrera in the middle of the field and asking that the VAR be reviewed.
However, in the protest, the visiting players demonstrated ignorance of the regulations, since the foul resulted in an attacking action by Millonarios that ended in a corner kick, from which Castro's goal came. Since it is a new play, the action cannot be reversed.
Referee Duarte took more than four minutes to resume the action, amid complaints from the visitors and an attempted fight between members of the coaching staff of both teams.
When play began again, Carlos Bacca served and gave the ball to the rivals, while his teammates stood still, without fighting for the ball. The action almost ended in the second blue goal.
In the middle of the fray, the center back only showed a couple of yellow cards, to Gabriel Fuentes and Víctor Cantillo, and did not send off anyone on the benches.
Already in the second half, another goal from Leonardo Castro increased the score in favor of Millonarios.
