But her family never stopped looking for her.

The man who gave Pietro the photo told him that he had been involved in the kidnapping of the girl to take her elsewhere. For Emanuela “there was something bigger in preparation”, he would have said to Pietro, as reported by Fatto Quotidiano, adding: “They called me as usual to go to the appointment to pick up a little girl like the other months and hand her over to some people, this time it was June 22nd, there was this time too a little girl but unlike the other times she was later taken somewhere else. We (me and another) were sent to make a phone call to the Vatican press office, we were looking for Casaroli, he wasn't there and according to indications we reported that we had Emanuela Orlandi.
