During the last days several mods have emerged for Elden Ring. Among this group, one in particular stands out, as it allows you to pause the game. While this was something exclusive to PC, it was recently discovered that you can pause the latest FromSoftware job in an official way and without the need for a mod.
Recently, the user known as IronPineapple, revealed that Elden Ring It has an option to pause the game. However, this goes beyond simply pressing a button. To accomplish this, you need to enter your inventory, then select the “Help” section, and finally access “Menu explanation”.
guess what, Elden Ring DOES have a pause button
just open “Menu Explanation” while on the inventory screen

While this menu explanation is going on, the game is paused. Yes, this is much more complicated than just pressing a button, but at least it offers a respite that many players surely need. However, considering that this option is surely something that the developers did not expect, there is a possibility that a future update will remove this.
On related topics, a speedrunner finished Elden Ring in record time and without dying. Similarly, many players have failed to beat the first boss.
Editor’s Note:
Although the idea of pausing Elden Ring may sound appealing, this also takes a bit of a challenge out of the game. In FromSoftware jobs you need to be on the lookout for everything, and doing something as simple as pausing combat might actually be a bad idea.
