Russian theater and film actress Ekaterina Klimova openly spoke about harassment by directors. She announced this in an interview with Nadezhda Sagittarius, available on her website. YouTube-channel.
The artist said that during her creative career she faced harassment several times: “Do you think I didn’t go through all these situations? I had a very bad year when three directors told me what to do and when. It was one fiasco, two, three … When I got to the film festival in Sochi and met all of them, I thought – how did it happen?
Klimova added that at that moment she was sure that her film career was over and she would never be filmed again. At the same time, the actress emphasized that everyone has the right to choose.
The actress also touched upon the American producer Harvey Weinstein accused of harassment and violence and actresses who were suspected of having links with the cinematographer in order to get roles.
“This is double standards. Each person is the blacksmith of his own happiness. “You won’t get the part if you don’t give me?” You have the opportunity to get up and leave, not to get this role, if your honor is so dear to you. But if you decide that it’s okay, then it’s just a shame and a disgrace to talk about it, ”said Klimova.
In mid-March, it became known that Harvey Weinstein, who is serving time for sexual offenses, managed to get away with three charges of rape and harassment.
