New impulse to shared mobility in Italian cities. The Zig Zag Sharing platform, active on the national territory through a network of electric scooters, has in fact announced with the Dutch company Go Sharing that it will acquire a majority stake in the Italian start-up in order to offer 3,000 electric scooters and 1,500 e-bikes in sharing by the end of 2022, located in 10 Italian cities, thus integrating the Zig Zag Sharing fleet active since 2016 with 1,000 scooters between Milan, Rome, Turin and Florence.
“We founded Zig Zag Sharing in Rome in 2016 with the ambition to change the status quo through new mobility solutions, able to fight the traffic and pollution of our cities – declared Emanuele Grazioli and Diego Rocca, Founder of Zig Zag Sharing – We have done this by developing a sustainable, safe and fun offer for our users where the main driver has always been the customer and his needs. The opportunity that arises with GO Sharing is to share the same vision in terms of sustainability and join forces to achieve the same goal: to redesign the future of mobility for the better.“.
According to the new agreement, by the first half of 2022 Zig Zag Sharing vehicles will wear the GO Sharing livery, keeping, however, the Zig Zag logo and the possibility of booking through the app of the same name. Furthermore, the first 500 electric scooters bearing the double GO Sharing and Zig Zag logo will be introduced in Rome in January 2022, replacing the company’s petrol vehicles with immediate effect. All e-scooters can be rented immediately through the Zig Zag Sharing app which will be able to count on a decidedly enhanced fleet starting from next month.
