already Coz sang: “The girls have something special / The girls are warriors / From the most corny to the most legal aunt”. And, naturally, fiction cannot discredit them. In other words: the police series in which they are in command are countless. They are there criminal intuitionThe Crimes of Cassandre, Homeland or Tandemto name a few.
and now it comes dry water, the first Galician-Portuguese co-production shot in Galician and Portuguese that HBO Max is showing and that is not without its advantages and disadvantages. Done very well, its biggest risk is that it requires watching the two seasons, 14 episodes of 50 minutes each, to unravel a series of crimes that covers up, or tries to cover up, a major arms trafficking network between Lisbon, Vigo and the Sub-Saharan Africa. The advantage is that it achieves the loyalty of the viewer who wants to know the outcome.
As it could not be less, the protagonist of the dangerous inquiries is the wonderful Portuguese actress Vitória Guerra, who plays the sister of the first of the victims of the plot. It is precisely her relationship with her murderer that moves her to a constant search for the person or persons responsible for the crime despite not being a police officer.
The more than 11 and a half hours of the story naturally need collateral stories to maintain interest, stories that focus on the peculiarities of two families: the Portuguese Duarte and the powerful Galician Galdón. Greed, cruelty to the disloyal or friendship are part of the good script by Alfonso Blanco, Pepe Coira, Carlota Dans and Lidia Fraga. Add to that some remarkable locations and the clever use of the two cities and the result is an interesting series.
