Pope Francis returning from his trip to Mongolia: “John XXIV will go to Vietnam, it’s too difficult for me to leave”
The Dadupon returning from 43rd apostolic journey to Mongoliasent a telegram to the Head of State Sergio Mattarella. Bergoglio explains that as a “Pilgrim of hope” he “encouraged the small portion of God’s people committed, with a missionary and ecumenical spirit, to the witness of charity and mercy”.
The Pope also explained the meaning of his words to the young Russians which triggered controversy, reiterating that it was an invitation not to forget their great cultural heritage which cannot be canceled for “political reasons”.

“Let’s put where the thing was done: a dialogue with young Russians. And at the end of the dialogue I gave them a message, a message that I always repeat: to take charge of their inheritance. First point: take up your inheritance. The same I say everywhere. And also with this vision I try to establish a dialogue between grandparents and grandchildren: that the grandchildren take the inheritance. I say this everywhere and this was the message”.
