Magazine will go fully digital already in May, and the last printed issue will appear on August 14.
In the future, Image’s stories will be available on the digital Apu360 platform. The magazine’s contents will continue to be produced by Image’s longtime editor-in-chief Niklas Thesslund.
“The print magazine is a physical object and therefore it is easy to think that it is the core of the brand, but it is not. The publishing format is not the core of the brand, but the visionary things, which are never ending,” says Thesslund in the press release.
A magazines CEO of the group Heli Arantola there was no longer enough demand for the print version of the magazine.
Arantola thinks that today’s magazine media must be text, video, sound and photos. According to him, Image’s new platform enables this.
However, according to Arantola, Image’s transition to the Apu360 platform has not affected the number of print subscribers and readers.
Arantola emphasizes that the originality of the magazine will be cherished in the future, and there are no plans to make any changes to the magazine’s content.
“But of course all content lives according to what people are interested in.”
