He died in Gorizia Demetrio Volcic, journalist, historical correspondent from Moscow for Rai. He had turned 90 on November 22nd. From the TV screens he told Italians about that world beyond the Iron Curtain thanks to correspondence from Prague, Vienna, Bonn and Moscow.
In the past six months, the health conditions of Volcic they had gotten worse. To the back problems that had plagued him for some time, other pathologies had added. Historical correspondent of RAI from Moscow, Volcic was born in Ljubljana to a father from Trieste and a mother from Gorizia. The family had moved to Slovenia during the fascism, and then returned to Italy a few years later. A “border” man, therefore, Volcic he had lived in various cities, including Vienna and Paris.
