The image of Cristiano Ronaldo is known throughout the world. The soccer star is currently at Manchester United, in England, where he has experienced several controversies since last season.
The Portuguese is experiencing his second return to the Manchester team, after leaving for Real Madrid in 2009. This new stage in the United Kingdom has not been as fruitful as the previous one and the athlete has faced all kinds of problems.

Now, the English Football Federation has formally accused Ronaldo of assault for events that occurred in the previous season. On April 9 this year, the player hit the phone of a rival fanwhich caused the device to be thrown into the air.
The event was recorded on video by the supporters of the other team. That day Manchester United was playing away at Goodison Park, against Everton. Ronaldo’s team lost 1-0, which would have caused the player’s frustration.
“Cristiano Ronaldo has been charged with breaching the FA’s E3 rule for an incident that took place after Manchester United’s Premier League match against Everton on Saturday 9 April 2022. It is alleged that the forward’s conduct after the whistle final was inappropriate and/or violent,” the English federation said in a statement.

Christian’s response
Although the player has not commented on the formal accusation, in April he spoke publicly about the fact. At that moment, the Portuguese apologized and attempted to make repairs.
“It is never easy to deal with emotions in difficult times like the one we are facing. However, we always want to be respectful, patient and set an example for young people who love this beautiful sport,” Ronaldo said.

The player was sorry for the fact and assured that he wanted to get closer to the affected fan and reward him in some way. He even sent him an invitation to watch another soccer game.
“I would like to apologize for my outburst and if possible I would like to invite this fan to watch a game at Old Trafford as a sign of fair play and professionalism in the sport.”
For its part, Manchester United stated that they have already been notified of the Football Federation’s announcement and that they support their player in the controversy. The athlete is right now with the Portugal team, to play friendly matches in the coming weeks.
