On this front there are very significant differences between the various countries : it goes from 5% in Portugal to 63.8% in Ukraine “, notes the independent monitoring of the Gimbe Foundation, which through its president Nino Cartabellotta underlines the need for” the government’s reception plans to accommodate civilians in flight must necessarily include the vaccination of the elderly and the frail from war zones, avoiding inequalities between regions “.
“The Ukrainian figure should not be underestimated, given the dramatic situation that will bring thousands of refugees to our country in the coming weeks”, says Cartabellotta. He adds, with regard to the immunization of refugees, that “it will eventually be necessary to reassess the extent of the donations of mRna vaccines to countries in difficulty, given the need to extend the vaccination campaign to war refugees”.
