Record weekly incidence rate in Germany, with 497.1 new coronavirus infections per 100 thousand inhabitants over seven days. This was reported today by the Robert Koch Institut, which speaks of the highest figure since the beginning of the pandemic. Yesterday the figure was 470.6 and a week ago it was 335.9. The agency also reported 78,022 new infections in the past 24 hours, compared with 55,889 infections a week ago. Deaths are down, with 235 deaths in the last 24 hours compared to 286 a week ago.
