At the Good Design Awards 2021 one of the great protagonists was Hyundai. The models of the Korean car manufacturer were awarded in five different categories, with its new battery and MPV models awarded a prize in the transport category. We speak clearly of the Ioniq 5 and Staria, respectively a 100% electric SUV and a battery-powered minivan: both models were particularly appreciated for their design, external and internal, as well as for the technological and connectivity standards supplied.
But the Korean carmaker didn’t just get honored for its range of vehicles: Hyundai also triumphed in other categories at the Good Design Awards 2021, including interactive media, home, mobile applications and graphic design. In short, a shower of awards that reflects the competitiveness of the Korean brand’s design identity in the global market. “We are very honored to have received Good Design Awards for these very important vehicles and innovations – the words of SangYup Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of Hyundai Global Design Center – This recognition tells of the exceptional work of our ‘dream team’ of design, who put their passion and heart into this project, and also of our engineers from the R&D center, who achieved this result together. The award also reflects the competitiveness of Hyundai design identity in the global market“.
As Hyundai itself recalled, the Good Design Awards is one of the oldest design competitions of the world. Each year, the program selects a list of design and graphic products that have marked a new direction for innovation, and that have pushed the limits of competitive products on the world market. This year, the 71st Since the award was established, there has been so much glory for the Korean carmaker that it hopes to enjoy the same approval from its customers as well.
