The Covid-19 epidemic in Italy sees the growth of hospitalizations in ordinary wards slow down, while the curve continues to accelerate in intensive care and the rise in deaths begins. This is indicated by the analyzes of the mathematician Giovanni Sebastiani, of the Institute for the Applications of Calculation `M. Picone´, of the National Research Council (Cnr).
“The analysis of the weekly differences in the sequence of places occupied in the ordinary departments shows that for about four days we have been in a phase of slowed growth”, notes the expert. “The growth – he continues – is not slowed down for the intensive care units, which however began to increase five days later compared to the ordinary departments”. The sequence of deaths is also accelerating, which as always follows with a delay the trend of hospitalizations, “with an average of 53 units per day last week, compared to 39 the previous week and 43 three weeks ago”.
Employment of ordinary departments is growing in all regions and autonomous provinces, except in Molise, and a phase of slowed growth began a few days ago in Abruzzo, in the autonomous province of Bolzano, in Calabria, Lazio and Marche. According to Sebastiani “there is a marked dependence of the employment of the ordinary wards on the climatic factor. In fact, the average employment in the northern regions is 15%, down to 12% in the central ones and then to 7% in the southern ones ».
Here are the percentages relating to the employment of ordinary departments greater than or equal to 10%: Valle d’Aosta 30%), autonomous province of Bolzano (25%), Umbria (24%), Friuli Venezia Giulia (18%), autonomous province of Trento (15%), Calabria (14%), Abruzzo (11%), Emilia Romagna and Liguria (10%).
One month after the start of the new school year, Covid has returned to schools in Pavia: in the province of Pavia there are 74 classes under surveillance because there are at least one student infected with Covid. Consequently, as foreseen by the latest Dpcm, about 1,500 students are forced to wear the Ffp2 mask, since they are in the same classroom in which positive cases have been found. An exception that does not confirm the rule, because the obligation to wear the Fffp2 in case of close contact with a positive is no longer respected in schools like others.
