Covid in Switzerland, 37,992 new infections and 22 deaths in the last 24 hours. This was announced by the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH), adding that hospitalizations were 138. A week ago, there were 32,150 cases, 20 deaths and 151 hospitalizations.
Over the last 24 hours the results of 111,906 tests have been transmitted, with a positive rate of 34%, compared to 29.6% last week. The reproduction rate, which is about ten days behind the other data, stands at 1.11. The Omicron variant accounts for 88.5% of cases. In the past fourteen days, the total number of infections is 377,021, or 4,328.92 per 100,000 population. Since the start of the pandemic, 1,879,214 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. In total there are 12,232 deaths.
68.05% of Swiss people have already received two doses of the vaccine. Among the population over 12, the share rises to 77.43%. In addition, 72.38% of people over 65 and 36.52% of the population received the so-called booster.
