Obligation to wear an outdoor mask from today in Sicily, which wants to stem covid infections to preserve the white area and avoid the risk of the yellow area in view of Christmas. Starting today, 2 December 2021, the new restrictions envisaged by the governor Nello Musumeci to counter the contagion and spread of the virus during the holiday season.
The new ordinance will be valid until December 31st. The provision provides for the obligation to wear a mask even outdoors for all over 12s and new controls and restrictions for passengers arriving in Sicily from South Africa, Egypt, Turkey, Israel, Botswana and Hong Kong. In addition, molecular and no longer antigenic swabs for migrants who have finished quarantine.
Passengers arriving from some countries will have to undergo a mandatory swab and, if they have arrived on the island in the ten days prior to the entry into force of the new ordinance, they will have to contact the ASP to be subjected to a molecular swab. The ordinance also provides for a reconnaissance of the Sicilian laboratories capable of sequencing the variants of the virus. “We want to spend Christmas in safety, both from a health and economic point of view – said President Musumeci yesterday – Sicily could not bear a new closure”.
