NYT: The Armed Forces of Ukraine cannot cope with the counting of dead and missing soldiers
The Ukrainian army is unable to identify soldiers who are missing in action. About it told correspondent for The New York Times (NYT) Maria Varenikova.
It is noted that this procedure can take several months, and access to the body does not always help speed it up. According to the correspondent, Ukrainians are indignant because of the difficulties in finding and identifying the military, staging public protests.
As Ben Barry, a senior analyst at the International Institute for Strategic Studies, has pointed out, the growing number of missing persons is a terrible problem. “They only increase pressure on Ukrainian society, on the military leadership and on [президента Украины] Vladimir Zelensky,” he believes.
