In France more than 100,000 daily new coronavirus infections have been recorded for the first time. 104,611 new cases were registered in the country on Saturday.

The daily record was broken for the third day in a row.

President Emmanuel Macron will meet with key government officials on Monday to discuss corona measures. In France, no widespread social exclusion measures have been introduced so far during the macro-wave. The country’s administration has put its hopes in its vaccination campaign.

French health authorities shortened the recommended booster period for the adult population on Friday. According to the new recommendation, adults should receive the booster three months after the last dose of the vaccine. The previous recommendation was five months.

In France, the introduction of a booster vaccine as a condition for a corona passport is being sought in cafes and restaurants, among other places.

To date, more than 122,500 deaths related to the coronavirus have been recorded in France throughout the pandemic. 76.5 percent of the population is fully vaccinated.
