Coronavirus Expressen: Sweden plans to lift its interest rate restrictions next week

According to the Swedish newspaper Expressen, Sweden is following the example of Norway and Denmark in easing restrictions.

In Sweden the current interest rate restrictions will be abandoned, Swedish newspapers say Express and Dagens Nyheter. According to press reports, the restrictions would be lifted next Wednesday, February 9th.

According to Expressen, the country’s government will hold a press conference on the issue on Thursday. The Prime Minister of Sweden will talk about this at the event Magdalena Andersson, Minister of Social Affairs Lena Hallengren and the Director General of the National Public Health Agency Karin Tegmark Wisellthe magazine writes.

According to Expressen, the government considers the health care situation in the country to be stable. In addition, vaccination coverage in the country is estimated to be at a sufficiently high level.

Already last week, Minister of Social Affairs Hallengren said that “most” of the restrictions could be lifted from 9 February if the peak of corona infections is reached and vaccinations “flow”. In Sweden, at least two doses of the vaccine have been given to less than 84% of the population aged 12 and over.

According to a source in the news agency TT, some recommendations for unvaccinated people, among others, may remain.

Express Sweden is following the example of Denmark and Norway in lifting restrictions, as both countries eased their restrictions from the beginning of the week.

Denmark waived its corona restrictions, including the use of face masks, says British Broadcasting Corporation BBC.

Restrictions were also lifted in Norway. Among other things, restrictions on participants were waived in the country.
