The city is renewing outdoor lighting cabling and hanging poles on several streets.
Helsinki An extensive renovation began in Etu-Töölö on Monday, where the city renews outdoor lighting cabling and hanging poles on several streets. At the same time, the city is renovating the electricity network.
The City of Helsinki informs about this in its press release.
The contract will last until the end of the year and will especially affect parking. The city will remove the parking spaces from each street in the construction area when work is being done there.
Jobs proceed from the northern part of Etu-Töölö towards Arkadiankatu and Pohjois Rautatiekatu.
During the installation work, pedestrian traffic will also have to be diverted from the sidewalks to other places, but according to the city, however, entire streets will not be closed.
The renovation will not affect public transport schedules or routes.
As a rule, work is done on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The city reminds in the announcement that the renovation will cause construction noise. The most noise comes from asphalt sawing and rock wedging.
