Historical. Amazing. Majestic. Fantastic. Cool. Dazzling. Extraordinary. Unique. Excellent. Great. Formidable. Colossal. Admirable. Sparkly. Incredible. Phenomenal. Gorgeous. Immense. Wonderful. Prodigious.
Adjectives fall short to describe what the Colombia Women’s Under-17 National Team has just achieved at the World Cup in India.
The 21 warriors, who have not reached the age of majority, have just given the country the greatest achievement in its football history. Since before the game began on Sunday, the players were already winners. And despite that, they did not settle. They gave nothing away and fought gallantly in the final. Unfortunately, an unfortunate rebound prevented the title. But the feat is unique.
For them, for their determination, for their talent, for their character, for their ability to row against the tide, for shedding light on a panorama that often seemed dark to them, for believing in them and for making others believe, today the news is only one: COLOMBIA IS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP!

Colombia, pure history
Colombia, so passionate about the beautiful game, had never had a success of this magnitude. For the first time the country rubbed shoulders with the top of the world. And she did it thanks to a group of warriors who showed that, although a certain sector of society told them ‘no’ many times, there is no one to stop them.
Their names now go down in the history books: Luisa Fernanda Agudelo Morelo, Mary José Álvarez Espitaleta, Cristina Motta Chavarro, María Camila Correa Tovar, Stefanía Perlaza, Eliana Andrea Agudelo, Laura Daniela Garavito, Natalia Hernández Sules, Yesica Paola Muñoz Rojas, Gabriela Rodríguez Salazar, Linda Lizeth Caicedo Alegría, Jimena Ospina Domínguez, Ana María Guzmán Zapata, María Fernanda Viáfara Bravo, Dayanna Valentina Beltrán Lara, Juana Sofía Ortegón Giraldo, Oriana Quintero Lemmel, Elsa María Gómez, Karla Daniela Viancha, María Camila Chuquen, Sofía Patiño .
battled ending
From the first minute, the thirst for victory of the Colombian players took over the court. In front of the reigning champions, the warriors never let their guard down.
The first option came at minute 5, at the feet of Gabriela Rodríguez. The talented midfielder tried through a free kick, but the rival goalkeeper prevented the celebration. Then, about the first half hour, Natalia Hernández had a superb shot that almost ended up in the back of the net. Later, with the Spanish on top, Luisa Agudelo was unbeatable. The first half ended goalless.
In the second half, very early, a quick play, in which striker Cristina Librán went on the attack, led to the ball crossing the goal line. However, those in charge of the VAR decreed that the Spanish had used her hand.
Minutes later, the heads up continued. Karla Viancha, who had entered for that last half, was close to scoring. However, the ball did not go in. In the midst of the tug-of-war, a Spanish attack ended up taking the Colombian defense back. The shot hit the body of Ana María Guzmán and the ball went to save. Later, Linda Caicedo was close to equalizing. But time did not give for more.
Colombia, world runner-up. Just as it reads.
