The statements of Garber, one of the leaders
“It was a good day. I really like these types of golf courses and I think I played without any pressure. It’s been a good week, but there’s still a lot of golf ahead. I really like this tournament and I hope that tomorrow (Sunday) I can come out with a good result, ”said Garber, who was already in the top ten in 2018: he finished eighth.
But very close, to an impact, are two other players, Taylor Montgomery, who delivered the best card in the history of the tournament in the Fundadores field (62, 9 under par), and Brandon Matthews, the winner of the PGA Tour Latin America points list in 2021.
Behind them, two strokes away, appears Ryan McCormick, leader after the first day, and then, three from the leaders, is the Englishman Ben Taylor, who seeks to become the first player to win the title of this tournament twice. : already did it in 2018.
Argentine Marcos Montenegro remained the best Latin American player in the tournament, with 11 under par, tied for eighth place with Americans Ryan Brehm, Jay Card III and Rob Oppenheim.

Nicolás Echavarría is still the best Colombian
Nicolás Echavarría continues to be the best representative of the local delegation, delivering this Saturday a card of 68 strokes (-3), to place himself in box 15, with 9 under par.
“Although I started very badly, I kept calm and stuck to my game strategy. I have been working a lot on the mental part and that was definitely what helped me to improve as I went through the holes. Today there was a little more wind and the flags are a little more difficult. Fortunately, I hit very good shots”, assured Echavarría.
The other Colombian who made the cut, Iván Camilo Ramírez, was unable to sustain Friday’s extraordinary performance, when he equaled the Fundadores field record, and fell to box 69, after making a round of 74 shots.
The contest distributes a purse of 750,000 dollars, of which 126,000 are for the champion. The last day will start at 7 in the morning and, unlike on Saturday, everyone will start from the tee of hole 1. The last group will start playing at 11:15 am
