During her visit to the Vatican, the former head of Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum asked Pope Francis to bless a rose silver made by the renowned artist Adrian Pallarols, as a gesture of love and recognition to the people of Mexico.
In an emotional meeting in the private office of Casa Santa Marta, Sheinbaum shared with the Pontiff his reflections on the devotion of Mexicans to the Virgin of Guadalupe and the importance of bringing comfort and hope to his people in these difficult times.
Through her social networks, the capital's president shared details of her meeting with Pope Francis, highlighting the gratifying experience of being able to dialogue with an open-hearted humanist.
“I think it is the best gift I can bring to the people of Mexico to share this gratifying experience of having been able to live with a humanist in every sense of the word,” said Sheinbaum.
The silver rose blessed by the Pope will be delivered to the rector of the Basilica of Guadalupea symbol of unity and hope for all Mexicans.
This gesture seeks to strengthen the spiritual and emotional ties between the Mexican people and the spiritual leader of the Catholic Church.
“Thinking about the devotion of Mexicans to the Virgin of Guadalupe, I asked Pope Francis to bless a silver rose made by Adrian Pallarols to take to Mexico,” wrote the Morena candidate and her allies on her social networks.
“I will give it to the rector of the basilica. I think it is the best gift I can bring to the people of Mexico to share this gratifying experience of having been able to live with a humanist in every sense of the word.”
Sheinbaum Pardo, presidential candidate of Morena and its allies, held a meeting with Pope Francis on Thursday in his private office at Casa Santa Marta.
