On a hot spring day and accompanied, to the sound of the drums of the Angel procession, in which more than 2,000 children from different schools in the metropolitan area of Murcia participated, the greatest exponents of Ciudadanos to fight for the presidency of the Region and the City Council of the capital, María José Ros and Pedro García Rex, downplayed the flight of peasants from their formation, especially the Popular Party, but also the PSOE. This rout made the presentation of García Rex less relevant, which was organized this Saturday in the Plaza del Apóstol, next to the Cathedral.
“You have to focus on those who remain, not on those who change jackets,” Ros asserted, while stressing that three or four members have left, for the moment, and that there are still more than 40 people in their formation. policy. “We have a cohesive project, which comes out with great enthusiasm, to defend the middle class, young people and those who want to create employment, among others,” he continued. For his part, García Rex stressed that the people who continue in the party are the ones who want to fight for their neighbors. “Whoever wants to fight for their seats, we think it’s great that they leave,” he remarked.
Before, Ros highlighted that the García Rex team is made up of “people from all over the Region, experts in different fields, representatives of civil society, people who are not professional politicians, who know how to fight, raise the blinds and keep their businesses going.” float” and clarified that, from the Glorieta, he will bet on an executive that conforms from the center to the sides through consensus, dialogue, loyalty and commitment, alluding to the parties considered populist.
«The team of May 28 is going to work closely with its neighbors, solving what the bipartisanship has done in these 40 years with this Region, which is to lead it to an exorbitant debt, to have very low indices, to the tail of Spain on everything in Health and Education, and the abandonment of environmental problems, “said Ros.
García Rex, who holds the position of Councilor for Culture, Tourism and Sports of the Murcian Town Hall, stated that he wants to “make the city a benchmark in freedom and well-being for all families, with less taxes, fewer burdens and above all more opportunities for companies and also for the self-employed” and added that he will fight “for the squeezed middle class, the one that receives the least and the one that gives the most”, in addition to advocating that families with two children and above pay have more tax advantages and create more green spaces and sports in the city and the districts. To support families, he proposes a flexible 40-hour work week, free school meals for all, and more childcare places, among other things.
The mayor wants Murcia to become a pole of attraction for large investments: “We want companies to come, settle, grow and generate wealth and, above all, quality employment” by “lowering taxes and eliminating administrative and bureaucratic”.
García Rex indicated that his department has been working in recent months on an important project for an audiovisual hub and videogames with European funding of about 8 million euros. “These are projects that are going to transform the productive system of our city,” she assured. And finally, he attacked the last tenants of the Glorieta, noting that “we have been able to obtain financing for projects worth more than 80 million euros in the last two; not like other parties that indebted all Murcian families ».
