With the government “the dialogue is ongoing but for everyone it is important to clarify that cinema, as has emerged today in a very effective way, is an industrial sector”. This was stated by Francesco Rutelli, president of Anica, on the sidelines of the presentation in Rome, in the Sala Nassirya of the Senate, of the General States of Cinema (Syracuse, from 12 to 14 April), accepting the invitation to dialogue from the minister Gennaro Sangiuliano who declared that there will be resources for cinema and has announced a remodulation of contributions.
“We will read it”, comments Rutelli who reiterates: “the crucial point is to consider cinema as an industry, it is not a sector that awaits help. Those supports that come in the form of incentives, tax credits, are growth tools for the sector which, moreover, finds itself having to compete with fierce international competition, with public financing much larger than that of Italy in some countries, see France, and tax incentives to private individuals, extraordinarily more penetrating than those we give, see Spain or the United Kingdom”.
