Chevrolet presented a new electric vehicle with a view to the future. The car is called Blazerand is destined to cover the market segment of medium-sized crossovers, with 500 kilometers of autonomy as the maximum range and different configurations available, including a very interesting differentiation in terms of traction, given that there will be four-wheel drive versions, front only or rear only.
The car will go on sale starting in summer 2023, with versions that will cost starting from $ 47,000, around 45,000 euros. There will also be a sports version, that is an uncompromising set-up that will go up to $ 65,000, and in the first quarter of 2024 an even more entry level variant will be presented for $ 44,000. It will be produced in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico, where the previous generation of the model is now on the assembly line.
The car, therefore based on four future versions (from least to most expensive, 1LT, 2LT, RS and SS) plus a special version for the police, is based on the Ultium platform. The Super Sport variant will be the most interesting, with 557 horsepower and 870 Nm of torque available, and with a structure focused on responsiveness, as well as several specific details in the passenger compartment such as the microfiber seats, ventilated and heated. Aesthetically, the SS will have a unique front grille and 22-inch wheels.
Inside, the Blazer features a 17.7-inch infotainment screen, an 11-inch digital dashboard, the Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system, an intelligent navigator to find charging points. Also present an optimized regenerative brake, the one-pedal driving system and a long list of driving aids including the advanced automatic parking system. On the outside the Chevrolet logo has been heavily highlighted, and overall the car comes in a rather muscular tone. Even the rear section, with a very short tail and a roofline extended almost to the peak of the car, is particularly aggressive compared to what is also seen in Europe.
