Suzuki for the environment
Suzuki actively participates in the Pulifondali & Pulispiagge initiative by providing the outboard motors to the Association promoting the operation.
Since 2020, Suzuki engines have been using the technology #lavalacqua (Suzuki Micro-Plastic Collector) which filters microplastics from the water while sailing, returning clean water to the environment. Additionally, Suzuki promotes other national and global sustainability initiatives:
- #suzukienergysaving: on the occasion of Energy Saving Day, Suzuki participates in Radio2 Caterpillar’s “M’Illumino di Meno” project by turning off lights in signs and offices during working hours, thus reducing CO2 emissions.
- Site “sleep” function suzuki.it: the page “falls asleep” when not in use, reducing the energy consumption of the connected device and allowing CO2 savings equivalent to 1,800 km of travel for a vehicle.
- #SuzukiGreenFriday: During Black Friday, Suzuki donates 0.5% of its daily turnover to a sustainability-related project. In 2024, the project allowed the installation of mussel colonies in the Marine Protected Area of Bergeggi Island to purify the water of the Ligurian Sea.
- #SuzukiBikeDay: Suzuki promotes alternative mobility by bicycle by inviting you to turn off your engines for a day. The 2023 edition saw the participation of over 2,700 people.
- #SuzukiCleanUp: for 11 years, Suzuki has been proposing the Clean-up the World project to reduce the negative impact of human activity on the planet. 9,212 volunteer employees from 14 Suzuki branches around the world participated in the environmental waste collection days.
- #Suzukisavethegreen: on the occasion of World Earth Day, Suzuki annually promotes the reclamation of a portion of the industrial area near its headquarters in the province of Turin. In 13 years, almost 57 tons of waste were collected.
“Suzuki has in its DNA the goal of improving the quality of life of its customers and people in general – the words ofEngineer Massimo NalliPresident of Suzuki Italy – being alongside FIPSAS for this type of activity, which is the perfect synthesis between sporting passion, personal well-being and attention to the environment, allows us to give further substance to the message we have always carried forward.
Our branch seeks to apply the guiding values of the Suzuki Brand in Italy such as respect for the territory, development and improvement of the socio-economic and environmental conditions of the areas in which it operates. We organize and participate in campaigns to clean up the territory and the sea; we invest in planting new trees, to reduce waste and we are very active in spreading the culture of not littering. When we all learn not to litter in the world, we will have made a huge step forward for the good of our planet.”
