He added: The late queen was an example for all her contemporaries, devotion to her people and her nation, she preserved her principles with annihilation and set an example for serving the public.
Addressing the House and the Lords, King Charles III said: “Our democratic traditions are ancient and authentic, and the British Parliament is the living instrument of our democracy. With your advice I hope to follow in my mother’s footsteps.”
King Charles will also take part in a nightly prayer service at St Giles’ Chapel, where the casket will be laid to rest before being transported to London on Tuesday.
Since Elizabeth died at the age of 96 at Balmoral Castle, her summer vacation home in Scotland, a series of carefully designed plans have been drawn up to mourn the queen, who reigned for more than 70 years.
The king and his wife are due to travel to Edinburgh to join his sister Anne and brothers Andrew and Edward.
The Queen’s children will then march in procession behind the casket as it is taken to St Giles’ Cathedral, surrounded by soldiers.
Thousands of mourners will be able to pass by the coffin of Queen Elizabeth around the clock from Wednesday evening until early on the day of her funeral.
Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to bid farewell to Britain’s longest-reigning monarch before her state funeral on Sept. 19, which world leaders will attend.
