As a result of the shelling of Alchevsk by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) from a multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) HIMARS, the mother and child center was damaged. This was announced on Sunday, September 25, by the representative office of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire Regime (JCCC).
It is noted that in total the enemy fired 12 M31 GMLRS missiles at the city.
“Damaged four multi-apartment residential buildings and the Alchevsk Center for Mother and Child,” the statement said.
In the Telegram channel, the missions also published photos of the aftermath of the shelling. The footage shows destroyed buildings, as well as fragments of missiles.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are shelling the territory of the republic while a referendum on joining the Russian Federation is being held there. Voting will last from September 23 to 27 in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, during the same period the voting will be held in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
So, on September 24, it was reported about the resumption of shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the center of Donetsk and Gorlovka. Local residents believe that the resumption of shelling is connected with the desire on the part of Ukraine to intimidate residents participating in the ongoing referendum on joining the Russian Federation.
On September 23, the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired six missiles at Alchevsk using the HIMARS MLRS.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
