The PP leader denies that the dossier with the information came from Moncloa
“I am very surprised and disappointed but with a very clear conscience.” The leader of the PP, Pablo Casado, has broken his silence this Friday to ask Isabel Díaz Ayuso to clarify what commission her brother received from an irregular contract for the purchase of masks during the first wave of the pandemic. Also to calm down and ensure that the crisis can be solved “today” if the president of the Community of Madrid provides the data, clarifies everything related to the bites. “All this has to end,” he asserted in an interview at Cope.
Casado explained that at the end of the summer he received information with bank and tax information, related to an alleged commission received by Díaz Ayuso’s brother in a contract awarded by the regional government and he called her to his office to ask her directly. He has not revealed which source provided said information, although he has denied that it came from Moncloa or from people around him. “It doesn’t come from a certain person. They arrive by people from the administration involved and that is why we must collect the information », he assured.
He wanted the Madrid president to explain the contract and clarify all doubts, but she did not offer any type of clarification or information. To our surprise«, Casado assured, »the only response« from Díaz Ayuso was not »data«, but rather »asking for the Madrid congress to be brought forward«. »My obligation«, he assured, was not to open »an organic process« like that when there was this problem on the table.
The leader of the popular has categorically denied that the formation contacted a detective agency or third parties to investigate the president of the Community of Madrid and her family environment because “she would never” allow something like this to be done in the P.P. “If someone had done it, even if it was in a private capacity, they would be fired,” added Casado, who said that the only thing that has been heard is a recording of an EMVS manager that “is not proof.”
The president of the PP has been surprised, and hurt, also on a personal level, by Díaz Ayuso’s reaction, which he considers he does not deserve, and has lamented “the damage that is being caused to the image of the party.” “I am committed to solving” this crisis, he has said. And if the data is known and he was not right, “let anyone present himself” to the PP’s national congress, in reference to the fact that Díaz Ayuso can take the step and dispute the leadership in July. «But my obligation and even my principles to look my children in the face -he has said- is that no city council or any community governed by the PP has committed any irregular or illegal practice».
Casado has also ruled out that the file open to Díaz Ayuso could culminate in an expulsion. “What has been done is an informative file to complete this information that we have, to clarify what has happened and based on the statutes, what is said is that you cannot defame or slander a party colleague as did yesterday”, has settled.
