Cars Tesla withdrew an application for more than € 1 billion in state aid for its Berlin plant

American electric car manufacturer Tesla has withdrawn its application for state aid for its plant under construction near Berlin.

According to Reuters, the matter was first reported by the German Ministry of Economic Affairs and later confirmed by Tesla.

Tesla was estimated to receive € 1.1 billion in European Union support for its battery plant. The support plan was approved by the EU in January and a final decision was expected by the end of the year.

A Tesla spokesman told Reuters that the withdrawal of the grant application would not affect its construction plans.
