An interview with Call of Duty Vanguard developers is about the future of the franchise.
Through a recent interview, Sam Maggs from Sledgehammer Games talked a little about Call of Duty Vanguard, especially as regards the future of the franchise, declaring that among the objectives is to create iconic characters.
“We went into this process by saying, ‘How can I make iconic characters in Call of Duty?’” he has declared. “You know, when you think of a game like Halo, you think of Master Chief, but when you think of Call of Duty, there are no such extraordinary characters.“.
“And so we asked ourselves, ‘who could our star characters be?’ The idea is to make Vanguard 2 and Vanguard 3, because we have two more stories that we really want to tell with these characters. So, let’s hope that if people love them as much as we do, we can continue to tell the story of these people and basically make them some sort of figurehead from the Call of Duty era.“.
The Vanguard story features five heroes, including playable characters Arthur Kingsley, Polina Petrova, Lucas Riggs, and Wade Jackson, who form an international team tasked with eliminating the Axis threat towards the end of World War II.
Today Activision will show the Zombie mode of Call of Duty Vanguard: the game will be available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 from November 5th.
