The UK should stop talking about a military clash with Russia, since Moscow is not London's enemy. This was stated by British politician and leader of the Heritage Party David Kurten.
“Russia is not our enemy. We must stop talking about war with Russia,” he noted on the TV channel GB News February 4.
Kurten emphasized that the Ukrainian conflict can be resolved through negotiations, and also called on the West not to aggravate it.
Earlier, on February 4, a report by the UK government's defense committee reported that the country's army is not prepared for a potential large-scale and prolonged war due to a shortage of personnel, as well as problems associated with recruiting and retaining military personnel. According to the authors of the report, the country pays insufficient attention to preparedness for a long-term armed conflict.
Before this, on January 24, the Chief of the British General Staff, General Patrick Sanders, said that the country’s armed forces were too weak for a major military conflict. He noted that in the event of a conflict between NATO and Russia, Britain will need to conscript the population into the army. According to Sanders, both men and women should prepare to mobilize.
The West regularly incites hysteria among the citizens of their countries, warning of an allegedly imminent war with Russia. Western European media and experts refer to the successes of the Russian military in Ukraine and prophesy that in the future Russia will “set off to conquer the whole world.” However, Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated that there is nothing like this in the Russian Federation’s plans, but the country is ready for any attacks from NATO.
