The film “Manhã de Domingo”, directed by Brazilian Bruno Ribeiro, won the Silver Bear for best short film at the Berlin Film Festival. The announcement was made this Wednesday (16).
The film, which is also scripted by Ribeiro, tells the story of Gabriela, a young woman who is preparing for a piano concert. According to the jury, the director told the story “with extraordinary control of the cinematic image. Bruno Ribeiro portrays an artist who deals with loss while facing fear and the desire to succeed.”

In his speech, he thanked his mother, who died of covid in 2021.
Before boarding, Ribeiro, Laís Diel (executive producer) and Raquel Paixão (actress) made a crowdfunding campaign to be able to embark to Germany.
