Blizzard has decided not to hold BlizzCon 2024 this year, with announcements and game news coming at other events in the coming months.
Blizzard announced that he had decided to cancel there BlizzCon 2024therefore the new edition of the classic event dedicated to all the company's games and their communities will not be held this year, following a rather painful decision.
“After careful consideration over the last year, we at Blizzard have decided to don't organize BlizzCon in 2024″, reads the statement released on social media by Blizzard, which also reports that the decision was not taken “light-heartedly”, considering the importance of this event for both the player community and the developers themselves.
Not very specific reasons are given, except the fact of wanting to face this year “differently”, and explore “different types of events” as has sometimes been done in the past, which suggests some presentations scattered within different events, rather than concentrated within the large annual convention.

Blizzard has in fact reported that new information and announcements on the games arriving this year, including World of Warcraft: The War Within and Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred, the first maxi-expansion of the game, will be provided during other specific events of the sector, among which the Gamescom 2024.
The team also mentions the Overwatch Champions Series and Dreamhack in Dallas and Stockholm, as well as various in-person global events to celebrate Warcraft's 30th anniversary.
In short, there will be no lack of news regarding Blizzard games, which will probably be present during other well-known events in the gaming world, but the great annual gathering of the company's game communities will be missing, which marks a certain change in the typical style of the software house, in hope BlizzCon returns for the 2025 edition.
This, however, may also lead one to think of a possible presence of news on Blizzard games within the Xbox Games Showcase in June, which could represent at this point an important stage to be exploited for announcements and trailers linked to the company's universe.
