A report published by the NBA website, quoting sources, said that Wales striker Gareth Bale is close to joining Los Angeles FC, after his departure from Real Madrid, the Spanish champion.
The 32-year-old’s contract with Real Madrid, which he joined in 2013 from Tottenham Hotspur, expired in a then-record fee of 100 million euros.
Bale won three league titles with Real Madrid, in addition to the Champions League title five times, the Club World Cup on three occasions and the King of Spain Cup once.
But the relationship between him and Real Madrid worsened in the past two seasons, and he moved on loan to Tottenham in the 2020-2021 season.
Bale was booed by Real Madrid fans during a league match in April.
Bale led Wales to qualify for the 2022 World Cup for the first time since 1958, after a 1-0 win over Ukraine in the playoffs earlier this month.
Los Angeles FC signed Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini after his recent departure from Juventus.
The second transfer window opens in the American League on July 7, and the report indicated that Bill and Kellini may participate for the first time with their new team in the face of rivals Los Angeles Galaxy the next day.
