Biathlete Tero Seppälä placed fifth in the World Cup sprint in Ruhpolding, Germany. The ranking bypasses the best of Seppälä’s career in the World Cup. He was in the Fifth Östersund chase in December.
“I knew you had to shoot well here, because in Ruhpolding the level of shooting is usually tough. Had to succeed on the bench, and quickly. And it succeeded, ”Seppälä said with satisfaction over the phone from Ruhpolding.
Seppälä cleared both the reclining and vertical shooting. Finished the race with the winner of France Quentin Fillon to Maillet was 41.9 seconds. Second place in Germany Benedict Doll won Seppälä by 34.7 seconds, but his first entry into the World Cup podium was not far off: Belarus finished third Anton Smolski covered Seppälä by 9.8 seconds.

“It’s nice to leave those stations, it’s tight both front and back. Sunday’s ski run should suit me better (than the profile of the sprint), ”Seppälä said.
Biathletes an intensive program before the Beijing Olympics will be complemented by the Anterselva weekend of 20-23. January. Seppälä will not get home until after the Olympics at the end of February. Skipping a cup event like the Norwegian tops can’t really be afforded, so you just have to cope.
“I am now 15th in the World Cup, and the top 15 will have a safe place to start the Olympics. So the races cannot be missed, nor can the messages from (Ruhpolding and Anterselva). We still want screens from our men’s messaging team. ”
