Beijing – Italy’s second gold medal at the Beijing Olympic Games comes from curling: Stefania Constantini and Amos Mosaner won it in the mixed doubles tournament by beating Norwegians Kristin Skaslien and Magnus Nedregotten 8-5. Winter Olympics, Pellegrino is silver in the cross-country sprint
Lorenzo Pellegrino won the silver medal in the free technique sprint competition of the Beijing Olympics. The Aosta Valley was preceded by the Norwegian champion Johannes Klaebo. Third was the Russian Alexander Terentev. Also at the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympics Pellegrino had won silver in this race, always behind Klaebo.
Klaebo won with a time of 2’58”06, the Valle d’Aosta policeman from Nus arrived with a delay of 0 ” 26, third the Russian Terentev at + 1 ” 31. At the foot of the podium the Finnish Joni Maki, + 2 ” 12, the Russian Artem Maltsev fifth, + 3 ” 59, the Swedish Oskar Svensson sixth, 6 ” 17 behind Klaebo.
Pellegrino this year mainly focused on the Games by training abroad, and being the holder of the sprint cup and having obtained a podium in the 2021/2022 season, he has bet on the Olympics. The free technique test is the one preferred by Pellegrino who had already allowed him to become world champion in 2017.
