triumphal entry of Begoña Gómez to the closing ceremony of the 41st Federal Congress of the PSOE in Seville. The wife of the President of the Government has been received with cheers, applause and expressions of affection from the delegates and socialist officials present at the Palace of Congresses and Exhibitions (Fibes) where the PSOE is holding its conclave this weekend.
The militants have given a warm welcome to Begoña Gómez at the beginning of the closing ceremony of the congresswhich will close with the speech of the head of the Executive and general secretary of the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez.
The president’s wife, accompanied by the president of the PSOE, Cristina Narbona, has melted into hugs and kisses with the militants upon his arrival, as also happened yesterday, when he appeared by surprise late in the afternoon, while Vice President María Jesús Montero and former President José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero debated disinformation and the supposed “judicialization” of fake news.
Begoña Gómez arrives at the conclave investigated for alleged crimes of influence peddling and corruption in business, in the context of his business dealings with two businessmen; to which are added crimes for misappropriation of Complutense software and professional intrusion, in relation to the extraordinary professorship that he directed at this university.
The 41st Federal Congress of the PSOE concludes this Sunday with the voting, early in the morning, of the Federal Bodies of the party and the recount, before Pedro Sánchez puts an end to the conclave in the closing ceremony.
