SAO PAULO (Reuters) – The Central Bank announced that it will release the fiscal statistics report next Tuesday with data for the month of April, amid the continuation of the strike by the monetary authority’s servants.
The document will be presented on the BC website at 9:30 am as scheduled on the autarchy’s agenda, followed by a virtual press conference by the head of the Statistics Department at 11 am.
The BC did not inform the forecast for the release of other statistics, such as the external sector and credit.
The agency’s press office explained that the Fiscal Responsibility Law requires the Executive to send a document to Congress by the end of May on the fulfillment of fiscal goals for the January-April quarter.
“Thus, this activity was defined as essential and is being carried out”, he said.
The servers approved at the end of April, after a brief suspension of the strike, the resumption of the strike for an indefinite period. This has compromised the dissemination of indicators.
